Teeterboard

Dmitry Sokolov was born May 23, 1980 in Moscow. He was trained as an acrobat at Moscow's State College for Circus and Variety Arts (better known as the Moscow Circus School), where he graduated in 2000, and immediately joined what was then considered the world's best teeterboardA seesaw made of wood, or fiberglass poles tied together, which is used to propel acrobats in the air. act, the Kovgar Troupe, based at Circus Nikulin in Moscow. Andrey Kovgar disbanded his troupe around 2010, and Dmitry decided to rebuild the act with half of the members of the original troupe and a few newcomers.

In 2013, the new Sokolov Troupe began to work with the celebrated act director Aleksandr Grimailo on a version of the act inspired by Miloš Forman's film Amadeus (1979). The Sokolov Troupe's version of Amadeus became an immediate sensation, and they were invited to participate in the 38th International Circus Festival of Monte Carlo in 2014, where Dmitry Sokolov and his partners (and Alksandr Grimailo) won the coveted Gold Clown. They were subsequently featured at Circus Carré in Amsterdam in the winter of 2014, and at Circus Knie in Switzerland for its 2015 season.
