Jonathan Morin, the creator of 2-Zen-O (in French, a play on the words "deux anneaux", meaning "two rings"), comes from the world of competitive gymnastics, which led him to a generalist performer contract with Cirque du Soleil. He began developing his crossed-wheel in 2005, and joined forces in 2007 with Marie-Eve Bisson to create the Duo 2-Zen-O.

Marie-Eve Bisson, who began her career in 1998 as an aerial hoopA heavy metallic hoop used as a variance of trapeze, usually with contortion moves. (Also called Cerceau.) artist, is also an alumna of Cirque du Soleil, with which she toured extensively around the world for many years. Jonathan and Marie-Eve were back to Cirque du Soleil from 2011-2015, where they performed their new act in their production of Dralion. In 2015, they participated in the Idol Festival in Moscow.

Beside their aerial crossed-wheel, Jonathan and Marie-Eve also perform a Cyr whell act (Jonathan), and a floor crossed-wheel act (Marie-Eve).
