The Big Apple Circus first big topThe circus tent. America: The main tent of a traveling circus, where the show is performed, as opposed to the other tops. (French, Russian: Chapiteau) on the landfill of Battery Park City, in Manhattan, in July 1977. Clown and acrobatics head-coach Nina Krasavina is under the giant clown façade designed by Mimi Gross Grooms, the wife of the famous multi-media New York artist Red Grooms.
