Jules and Anna Glasner on the opening page of the Cirque Bureau's 1948 program. The text reads: "Cirque Bureau is the oldest of French circuses. Founded in 1854 by Mr. Jean Bureau, who has manged it for many years. After his death, his sons, Mr. Joseph Bureau, the famous equestrian, and Mr. Paul Bureau, the famous clown that all the elders remember, continued to manage it. Since 1919, Mr. and Mrs. Glasner, nephews of the Messrs. Bureau, have made this fine establishment prosper. Mr. Glasner has insisted on preserving the tradition of the old circus in his own, with its impeccable and renowned cavalerie(French) The ensemble of the horses in an equestrian circus; a group of horses presented "at liberty." and carefully selected program.
