Poster designed by Charles Kiffer (1902-1992) for Paris's Cirque Medrano. The slogan Tout différent du cirque de votre enfance ("all different from your childhood's circus") refers to the circus's frequent mixture of traditional circus acts and acts such as singers, comedians, and dancers, usually seen in variety theatres, who were often the feature attractions of the second half of the show. The formula, which had originated in 1945 as the "Floor Show", was not kept as a rule for each program. (1949) — Private Collection
