From Circopedia

Au Rendez-vous des Artistes, oil on canvas by Elena Zaïka, featuring the Cirque Medrano during the "Belle Éopoque." Although the painting is more interpretative than realistic, the café did actually exist. The painter Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, an habitué of the Cirque Fernando (later Medrano), can be seen at the terrace along with the legendary "cancaneuse" La Goulue. The clowns pictured in medalions are (from left to right) Annie Fratellini, Pierre Étaix, Buster Keaton, Charlie Rivel, Grock, and Achille Zavatta. In reality, Pierre Étaix and Annie Fratellini never worked as clowns at the Cirque Medrano—although Annie Fratellini debuted in its ring as a musical eccentric when she was still a child. (2013)
