 Dmitry Sokolov was born May 23, 1980 in Moscow. He was trained as an acrobat at Moscow's [[State College for Circus and Variety Arts]] (better known as the Moscow Circus School), where he graduated in 2000, and immediately joined what was then considered the world's best teeterboard act, the [[Kovgar Troupe]], based at [[Circus Nikulin]] in Moscow. Andrey Kovgar disbanded his troupe around 2010, and Dmitry decided to rebuild the act with half of the members of the original troupe and a few newcomers.
