He began juggling in front of an audience in his school when he was twelve years old, and thought he could make a profession of it. After high school, he enrolled at the Ecole Nationale de Cirque in Montreal, where he graduated as a juggler in 2001. Meanwhile, as a Junior Competitor, he had already been awarded two consecutive Gold Medals (1999 and 2000) for his juggling technique by the International Juggling Association; Emile would later receive an additional three Silver Medals as professional juggler.
