Mark Gindick was born and raised in New York City. He studied film and drama at SUNY Purchase, and is a graduate of [[Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey]]’s [[Clown College]]. He has been working as a physical comedian onstage and in the circus since his graduation from Clown College, and has shared the role of "Grandma" with [[Barry Lubin]] at [[The Big Apple Circus]] in ''Big Top Doo Wop'' (2001-2002) and ''Dreams Of A City'' (2002-2003).

Mark has performed as a clown with [[Dick Monday|The NY Goofs]] at Carnegie Hall and at The International Children’s Festival, with Ringling Bros. & Barnum & Bailey, and has been featured in the Big Apple Circus production of ''Play On!'' in 2008-2009. He has written, performed and appeared in theater, film and television, including Nora Ephron’s ''Julie and Julia'' (2009), ''The Late Show with David Letterman'', and ''Late Night with Conan O’Brien''.

He has starred in the comedy hit ''Happy Hour'' in New York and Edinburgh, and has written and starred in ''How To Be A Man'' at the Palace of Variety on 42nd Street in New York. He is a member of the Big Apple Circus ''Clown Care''™, and has been awarded two Golden Nose Awards from the New York Downtown Clown Revue.
