A member of Beijing's [[China Acrobatic Troupe]], Zhang Fan was the prodigy of slack wire acrobatics. He won his first Gold award at the Acrobatic Festival of Wuhan in 2000, and another Gold Medal at the [[International Circus Festival of Budapest]] in 2001. He then improved on his already mind-blowing act with a revolving apparatus; this new version of his remarkable display of exceptional skills won him another Gold Medal at Paris's [[Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain]] in 2003.
