Equestrienne, Ropedancer
Little is known of the Spanish equestrienneA female equestrian, or horse trainer, horse presenter, or acrobat on horseback. Marietta Orsanigo: Born in Spain circa 1830, she was active in the 1840s in Europe, where she was a member of the circus troupe of Alessandro Guerra, with which she performed in the German States, and during Guerra's 1845 season in St. Petersburg, Russia (see: Russia's First National Circus). She was an accomplished ballerina on horseback and haute-école(French) A display of equestrian dressage by a rider mounting a horse and leading it into classic moves and steps. (See also: High School) rider. She is also said to have been a ropedancer—for which she had been trained by the legendary ropedancer, Madame Saqui (1786-1866).
