Poster for the Cirque Medrano-Voyageur advertising the star cat trainer(English/American) An trainer or presenter of wild cats such as tigers, lions, leopards, etc. Vojtech Trubka, specifying "le véritable Trubka" ("the real Trubka"), to differentiate him from his brothers, Josef and Frantz—talented cat trainers in their own right—who were often advertised without their first name to create a confusion with Vojtech, who was a major circus star. The poster, however, doesn't show him as he was: charismatic, elegant, calm, and stressing the beauty of his animals rather than their danger! (1937) — Private Collection
