Chinese Pole

Roberto Rodriguez, Daniel Pupo and his wife, Linnet Arego were born in Cuba, and the three of them were professors at the Cuban National Gymnastics Academy. They also competed nationally and internationally in gymnastics and artistic roller skating.

The trio came together in 1994 to create their acrobatic trio, Los Aregos, and put together their Chinese Pole act. They performed it in nightclubs in Havana and went on a European tour with a official Cuban circus company. From there, they defected and immigrated to the United States.

They performed extensively in North America, and have been featured notably with Circo Atayde in Mexico, and the Royal Hanneford Circus and the Big Apple Circus in the United States.. In 2001, they won a bronze medal at the World Circus Festival in Brazil.
