Philippe Gruss, leopard act, at Cirque Jean Richard, installed in the Palais des Sports in Paris, filmed for the French TV show, La Piste aux Etoiles (1965). The act usually ended with Philippe Gruss asking his last leopard in the cage, Prince, to leave; Prince feigned to ignore his trainer's request until Philippe Gruss went to him, took him in his arms, and carried him to the cage's door. On the day of this filming, Prince, perhaps distracted by the cameras, decided to leave his stool by himself, and thus Philippe Gruss, to his chagrin, was deprived of his charming and spectacular finale! — Document: Institut National de l'Audiovisuel (INA) (www.ina.fr)
